Pink hair, pink cookies, pink tees and wakeboarding for boobies. On August 31, 2011, the usual Wednesday Night Girls Nights at Adrenaline Adventures celebrated their final session by Riding for the Cure.
The weather wasn’t perfect for the event but both ladies and gentleman came out in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. And thanks to amazing sponsors and amazing prizes like hot yoga from Moksha Yoga, clothing from West 49 Polo Park, Billabong Polo Park, Boarders Anounymous, and Boardanyone, just under $1000 was donated.
The ladies showed their skills in a mini comp while DJ Kaly Ocho on the 1's & 2's played. Katya Melnick came in third almost landing her 360, Kari Spring came in second finally landing her 360, and Randi Wardle was crowned Miss Adrenaline after landing her first Tantrum, a trick that has tormented her all season, a 360 on the flat bar and her consistent 360s off the kicker.
The girls really got to show off their skills after they busted their butts (sometimes literally) all summer for a great cause. Riders got to chow down on some delicious cake and cookies from Cakeology and High Tea Bakery, as well as a weinie roast thanks to Sobeys.
Derkson Plumbing donated Keep-A-Breast Bracelets for all girl riders who came and participated, making sure to spread awareness.
A big thanks goes out to Adrenaline Adventures for supporting Wednesday Night Girls Nights throughout the season, but also for their generous act of matching all donations made during Ride for the Cure.
Cheesy time - I’m proud of all the ladies that came out this summer and learned how to ride and who supported the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
